The maestro. The legend. The king.

It's Malaysia Day, yes a holiday.

So I was just sitting in my room surfing the theory11 site, then I saw this video of David Copperfield performing on the finale of America's Got Talent yesterday. He performed the Shadow Box and Squeeze Box. His magic was full of charm.

He is the most famous and successful magician in the world. He's for real. His magic is a mystery. He lead people into believing that spirits, ghosts helped him to achieve his illusions. Till this day, few can explain how walked through the Great Wall of China, how he made the Statue of Liberty disappear. I know I can't.

As a card magic pratitioner, I look up to him a lot. Although he was not my major inspiration in magic, he showed all of us what a single man can achieve with passion, hardwork, and determination. A phenomenon.

I wiki-ed his name and guess what? Today's his birthday! 16 Septermber. What are the odds? Yes it's 1 in 365. So if you think of it, Malaysia's having a holiday on David Copperfield's birthday!

Have fun people.

May~be~May

So yesterday. I got very bored and decided to film a magic video. It's an effect by Alex Elmsley. He invented my most trusty sleight, the elmsley count. It's nothing too hard, but it has served me tremendously well throughtout the years. I don't really remember the name of the effect though.

The performance was done at a normal speed (already quite slow) and slowed down even more by editing. To me speed isn't really a factor that defines your magic. I don't really mind fast or slow, but I try to get as smooth as possible.

You know me, when it comes to videos, it's a lot of about the music. The music used in the video is Cooler Than Me, it's alternate version that is. Recommended by Cuiling, thanks! It gives the exact feel that I want the performance to have, smooth, style, cool, and class.

The title has an interesting story behind it. It was inspired by mcxy, we had a chat and I asked her to think of a title. She kinda gave me 'Tomato, Toilet, Toothbrush, OMG, WOW' and other 'great' ideas. Then she said she MISSES her towel. MISS. Has different meanings, and the star of the trick is a queen. I figured it was the perfect title for the video.

I'm satisfied with the end result.

MISS =) Enjoy.

A nonchalant post

So, the day was good.

I mean yesterday, it's 12.27am.

Nothing went too wrong and I'm grateful for that.

I woke up at 8am to write a letter.

Yes, me, writing, pen, paper, long long essay-karangan-作文.

Had lunch with three fine ladies, ctzwjcllyxh.

There was the blue, the grey, and the nothing = pink.

Though I wasn't quite sure that I behaved normally.

Thanks Chentel's and Jeslene's mom for the ride.

I finished watching Vampire's Diaries.

Not bad at all, still I'm unhappy that Lexi died.

Tried to touch my homework but wasn't successful.

Come to think of it, I kinda wasted my day.

Though I enjoyed it.

Time I enjoy wasting was not wasted.

As nothing as me

I have nothing on my mind right now.

It's a great feeling.

I think it's the morning.

The next time I get this feeling is probably in the exam hall.

That I hope won't happen.

Ah enjoy it while I can.

I know it won't last.

PS : Paper work due today.

Eye fill we eared

So I've been watching this series, Vampire's Diary. Cause I'm bored and I need something to take my mind off the other something.

Let's not get into that other something.

So I've heard of this show from a friend of mine and decided to give it a shot. I'm at episode 10 right now, actually half way through. It's not bad. At first it was kinda boring, then it got better.

Ah the classics, vampire loves human girl. Girl find out, freaks out, loves him anyway. Oh yea there are witches too. Hm I wonder can a witch be turned into a vampire? Wow, then she'll be like a vitch, or a wampire. There are no werewolves though, hmm I wonder is there a female werewolf. That'll be awkward. The producers probably couldn't figure out anything suitable for her to wear at the same time keep it under 18.

The only thing I don't really like is that the characters die too quickly. Oh a new vampire, finally...then within 1 episode, she's dead. And Lexi! Played by Arielle... something, I saw her in a movie once, I totally adore her! But again, dead. Couldn't survive 1 episode. It's as if Arielle got really sick and the producers had to cut her off the show.

I like it more than Twilight. At least the female lead actor does not mess with her hair every 10 seconds.

PPS's great, though I still like YouTube better.

Back to watching.

Pokerjack

Oh great
NOW?

I can't deal with this any longer
Every second ends with a sigh

I want to but I can't
For all the right reasons

I had the 10 of ♥ and the 9 of ♠
Already I'm having a hard time

Shoud I call, raise, check or go all in?
Or should I just fold?

No, I have folded too many times
And it's gotten me no where

I've been counting cards
I know the deck is cold

My chances are slim
Actually zero if you were to round up

Though I had to play the hand
One way or another

I'm still here counting my chips
The dealer seems patient enough

It all comes down the one thing
The cruel but inevitable truth

Before one wins
He must learn how to lose

(You have no idea how many times I've written, highlighted, deleted, and rewritten this post.)

Have a go jedi

We filmed this during our Singapore trip two days ago. Haha yea I know it's incredibly stupid and lame. Still, I enjoy doing all those stupid-funny-throw-face things with my friends. This is the last year we get to have this kind of fun. After secondary school, it's going to be crazier!!! Though we probably have already parted by then, so I'll cherish the time we have left.

This video took me about 4 hours. Actually the editing took probably less than 2 hours, just that I had a hard time to come up with an idea. The intro music was Star Wars theme and the outro song was Have A Go Hero by Steve Appleton.

This song was sent me by And-a-bell. Credits to her! When I first heard this song, I knew I had to make a video with it. I long ago had the idea of introducing people using the four beats in the opening of the song. I finally got to do it. Watch the video and you'll know what I mean.

Oh I'll never forget it. This is too precious. There's nothing in the video but FUN. =)

All in, all out

Things seem kinda slow today. I don't wanna regret wasting my time.

Okay. My to-do-list for this holidays:

1. Master Preqel.
2. Make another video.
3. Design the class shirt.
4. Write a letter.
5. Finish homework.
6. Study, if possible.
7. Go for interview.
8. Follow this list.

I have some serious thinking to do. About everything. Past, present, future.

I know what I want. Just that I don't want it bad enough.

Born from a boombox

STEP UP 3D was awesome!!! I've been look forward to this movie since I saw the trailer early this year. And it did not disappoint me, hella fantastic movie!!!

I watched with Jiamin, Haukit and Jiaen at Vivocity, Singapore. Ah it's been a while.

I love the first battle at the park, Moose totally smoked Kid Darkness (Bboy Cloud)! And that robot guy (Madd Chadd) was mad dope during the first battle in the World Jam. Sick isolations! Camille and Moose's dance set reminded me of Marry Poppins, haha. Last but certainly not least, final battle, Pirates vs Samurai!!! Sick costume, and Bboy Jalen from Supercrew was in it too! Yea the kid who did headspins. The Pirates colab with the MSA crew from Step Up 2, what a clever idea! Of course the ending was a nice kicker. Freestyle tutting, owned it! Yea the finger patterns and styling, that's called tutting.

Moose's freestyle are so amazing! I would love to see him battle Joe Larot from Jabbawockeez someday. Madd Chadd vs Chibi too! The soundtrack was real good as well, I kinda downloaded all of them before I even watched the movie. Best track had to be Beggin' by Madcon, played during the Battle of Gwai. Yes I sometimes listen to rap music. Diversity.

Truly satisfied. Though the 3D effect gave me a mild headache afterwards.

We had lunch at a mini food court. And did a stupid and funny video session. I'll be editing it later, look out for it!

Jiamin hurt her foot, bled a little. Her shoes were too tight fitting so she had to get a new pair of flip flops there and then. We bought a present for Puan Soh at the National Geographic shop. Hope she doesn't see this spoiler. I bought a few decks, two of which turned out to be fakes, no wonder they were so cheap. Ah I'm just glad that they can faro, good enough for practising I guess.

We went to Chinatown. No specific reasons. Latterns here and there, it would look dazzling at night. Nothing much to do there, walked around for a while and decided to go home.

I was so glad that we had places to sit down on our way back to Jurong. Turned out we were on the wrong train, damn. Got on the right train, but stood all the way to Jurong. We changed 3 buses from Singapore to Jb, amazing right. People can be very uncivilised. We were queueing and when the bus arrived, everyone rushed up from all directions like mad dogs, ignoring the queue.

Anyways, got home safely. One of the best outings I reckon, free and easy.

Promise me we'll do this again someday.
