I fool you

I just got back from Peking Restaurant. A dinner for all senior members of MCA . And by senior I mean old people, averagely aged 55 or so. My cards and I were there to entertain the crowd.

I had trouble choosing what to wear. Originally I went for long sleeved black top and black jeans, hoping for a cool and mysterious feel I guess? But hell that's not me. So in the end I went for the kx look. Haha. Plain red shirt + White hoodie.

There was about 12 tables. I had to go table after table to perform my close-up effects. Honestly, the crowd wasn't that great. I talked slowly, explained every aspect in detail and presented the effect successfully, yet I don't think all of them can understand what I was conjuring. The reaction was not impressive, a bit disappointed. Of course there are a few enthusiastic uncles and aunties who were asking for more.

Later did I know the first table I performed for is the datuks' table. All of which I had never heard of. Haha.

Wait the show does not end there. Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong, our deputy education minister was present too. He gave his speech, even mentioned that he disagrees to abolish JPA scholarships. Anyways, after that I walked up to him. Slightly nervous, I performed my ambitious card routine. Well it was certainly a success, his 'huh?' look was priceless!

I had never consider myself a magician at all. I'm merely a card magic practitioner, not a magician. Yet. I had a great experience overall. A great deal of fun. I was not paid to do all this. Interest and passion. At the end of the day, it was satisfaction. =)

I. Fool. You.
