K ❤

Ahh sometimes I really feel I don't fit in. I don't.

Is it because I'm a foreigner?
Is it because I'm weird?
Is it because I'm too different?
Is it because I'm not friendly enough?
Is it because I'm being to serious?
Is it because I'm not doing it right?
Is it because I'm just not trying hard enough?

I don't know. I just have that feeling that things aren't natural. I'm not one with everyone.

Am I the only one feeling this?

Strangers' gallery

So I have been busy with my common test and whatnot. Not a lot of time to blog. But I do have a lot to say. Maybe I should start vlogging. Really cuts down on time I'd say.

On a non-related topic, hello people.

Some 3 weeks ago I performed for the School of Engineering Christmas Party. And guess what. It was a total disaster. Very. Very. Terrible. The event was poorly planned. Seriously us engineering people should stick to what we know best, solving problems. Not creating them.

Everyone was sitting down like kids. They were all in their own groups chatting. How can anyone perform in such circumstances? There was minimal attention from anyone at all. The sound system sucked ass. People could barely hear me. It was a total mess.

Here comes the worst part. The close up audience. I picked a guy and a girl out of the crowd to sit close up with me. The girl was Fazhana, a friend of Shaqir's. She was very nice. And then we have the guy. Who's from MOT. A schmuck-heckler who acts like a 5 year old. The idiot who freaking hid half of the deck while I was explaining prior to the effect.

I carefully tailored my routine. I squeezed every brain juice I had to figure out how to introduce the cooler deck at the right time with the right misdirection. I wouldn't blame the audience for the poor response. I just think that the whole event wasn't meant for any performance to take place at all. It was like a chill out party. No one gives a shit about what everyone else is doing.

By the 5 minute mark I knew I wanted to stop performing. I changed the blue deck to red and there was no reaction. Less than half of the crowd was even watching. Instead people were queuing up for the Frolick booth. I got fed up and ended everything with a stupid card change.

Seriously. Screw you, poor-event-planning.

The night didn't end up that bad though. I had fun with Li Xue and my friends. Eating and chatting. The hop night was a stupid idea though. Just some not-that-loud-but-quite-loud music pumping in the background while everyone was just getting high without any specific reason. The crowd was small so everything looked kinda.Uhh. Cute.

The silver lining was that I did my best. And that Fazhana was being very helpful. I enjoyed her reaction. And a guy from Student Union requested for my performance during a New Year Party. We'll see how that goes. Other than that, I'll probably not perform for any engineering events ever. To think I suited up for it.

And there were light sticks. And yes I'll update more often. For the 9882926th time.

*When I realise I'm angry I stop immediately because those people are really not worth my time to even think about *

Apacentuninsparkings

RED CAMP IS WAY TOO AWESOME.

Hands down, best camp I have ever been to. I mean seriously, it was like 3 consecutive days of adrenaline, madness, cheering, getting high, non-stop fun. THE NINJA FEVER NEVER ENDS.

250 Student Leaders. 1800 campers. This year was said to be one of the best Red Camps yet.

It was really refreshing to see new faces from secondary schools from all across Singapore. Though I know not many of them, actually not any of them at all, I really had a great great time bonding with everyone, both SLs' and campers.

There's really too much to talk about. If I start now I'll be late for class tomorrow. The campers were a bunch of crazy enthusiastic ninjas, the cheers were awesome, the program line up was educational YET fun, the mascots were super cool, the food was great, the concert was definitely a fantastic idea, the time we had was most memorable.

This was my first Red Camp experience, much like the campers. I really enjoy it as much as they do, if not more. I met so many awesome people. More than friends, we are a family. SLs from the bottom of my heart I love you all.

Of course all of the campers too. You guys are the bomb. Though day 1 you all were a bit shy, by day 3 you guys are so in control that it's out of control. We cheer, we ninja, we own.

There's still so much I wanna say. I should be considering vlogging. For now, I'll let the pictures talk.

AHHH TOO MUCH AWESOMENESS. I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE.

Effive

Ahh what a busy term.

I've been staying back after school almost everyday either for CCA or self study. Well not exactly by myself. Though since I study together with a partner but was simultaneously ignored by her, that kinda cancels out the company, forever not alone but forever lonely. Man that's pathetic.

RCBC was great. Get to brush up on product knowledge as well as know more awesome SLs'. Everyone's counting down. In less than 72 hours we're gonna raise the roof and rock our socks off! Can't wait to see how everything will be like. Excited.

X'mas performance is the week after the next. I so wish I won't have stage fright during the actual date. Awkward silence shall not be the case.

After these two weeks life will be much easier.. wait NO. Engineering Headstart Camp 8 and 9 December! 12 December common test. After which is the Punggol CC performance. Gahhhhh when will this all end.

24 hours per day is sufficient for each and all of us. I must believe in that.

Why must clocks have wings?

What I was up to during the holidays

So the vacation period is finally over. I did nothing too useful, nothing productive. In other words, everything went according to plan.

Oh during the very last week of the break I did join the RedCamp Student Leaders' Camp. That was fun. We painted 50 masks, made 50 shurikens and kunais, learnt a lot of cheers, had tons of fun. Probably one of the best decisions I've ever made. You guys are awesome. NINJAS ROCK!

We had a crazed dinner just few days ago. After decorating our masks. Which I failed to do so. We initially painted it black and planned to add blue and white to it. I tried a design. I didn't like it. I painted the whole mask white. Like when we bought it. Back. To. Square. ONE.

Dinner. We spent more than an hour talking about show, cartoons, movies and whatnot. Random one of us randomly shout out random show title and everyone got so freaking excited. And it just rolled on. It was kinda touching to know that quite a lot of us watched movies like 500 Days of Summer, Forgetting Sarah Marshall etc. Now I know who my movie kakis are.

Ninjas ninjas we gather together! Can't wait for RedCamp 8. It's really going to be one hell of a time!

And the first week of school went pretty well. Though ES swapped the Circuit Analysis and Strength of Materials modules for Digital and Analogue Electronics. Not much of a choice had we. Needed the background knowledge for our research projects at NTU.

First comiss class was alright. Gahhh but my lecturer's a trained writer. Write articles in magazines and stuff. Even interviewed Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears bla bla blah. Cheating our way through this module isn't really plausible. The last thing I want is a shitty group mate who does nothing but free load and slack. Actually the last thing I want is for me to be that person. Yea.

Hmm what else. Oh. I guess I'll be starting on stage magic soon. Christmas performance at Punggol CC coming soon. Gotta be prepared for it. And NP X'mas party too. 20 minutes. 400 people (I doubt that). I best not screw up. I haven't even started to structure my performance. Ideas scattered here and there. Must. Start.

*NINJA SMOKE BOMB TRANSITION*

I just went to see my school's concert band. It's part of president's challenge raising money for charity. Support Qiu Ting, Arshad and Elisha! And of course I dragged along YY and Cheryl. And somehow Xiang Xun was with us too.

It was really really good! They played a few songs that I don't really know. And they did a Beatles Medley! Something. Yesterday. Fool On The Hill. Here There Everywhere. All My Loving. A Hard Day's Night. Maxwell's Silver Hammer. Lady Madonna. Ticket To Ride. ahh what else. I forgot. I LOVED IT. Oh MJ too. Rock With You. Thriller. Man In The Mirror. I'll Be There. And a few other classics. Great taste. Clever of them to do Lady Gaga's Born This Way for the final encore. Nice touch.

Tutti Frutti yogurt is quite dear. =(

I had a good day. =)

Tomorrow is a holiday. =)

Stay hungry, stay foolish

No one can rock a turtleneck like he did

One of the great minds of the 21st century passed away earlier today. Steve Jobs. Co-founder of Apple Inc. Aged 56. Died of Pancreatic cancer. After fighting it for more than half a decade.

Steve Jobs changed the world with his visions and innovation. He made it better. He owned.

Without his contributions I would not be listening to my favourite songs on my iPod. Arts and design students would have no Macbooks to use. In one of his speeches, he  even mentioned that he made possible Sans Serif and other fonts when typing using the computer. It's uncanny that ideas from the mind of a single human being can make such a significant difference in all of our lives.

A true legend. A bona fide visionary. A freaking daredevil. Hell, he dropped out of college just because he couldn't see the value in it. How many of us have the audacity to make such a bold move?

His death is probably the biggest one after MJ's. Such a pity. Such a great loss. Well, people tend to die at some point of their lives. The least we could do is to learn as much as possible from him and lead the craft better than he had found.

I guess we don't have to worry about people forgetting him. His legacy will be with us for always.

Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

RIP Steve Jobs

Cap it with the owl

Today, I turned 18.

I had lunch with my friends. I had pizza for dinner with my family. I had a 1.5 hour nap. I had received wishes from my friends. It was a smooth day.

I don't ask for anything more. This is good enough. Good enough for me.

Above all, today reminded me of last year's today. Where my friends got together and gave me that deck of birthday cards and other gifts. My Friends. I miss them so much. Except for Soon Ming, I just saw him today.

It's really overwhelming how time flies. I still remember the days we went to Bambino and LeCurry to have lunch. I still remember the Mac and Cheese and Ham and Cheese Sandwich. Days when we just went to school and talk nonsense all day long are still stuck within my memory. Days when we studied like hell for spm. I could remember the whole orientation of our class. How everyone looked in their uniforms. Even the holes in the ground. And how Siang poured water into it to make it even worse.

It is the stupid things in life that we remember the most. Thank you all. With love. =)

Four for four

My results for the 1st semester were out on Malaysia Day. Which more importantly was David Copperfield's birthday. Which more importantly was a holiday.

It would be a pretentious lie to say that I didn't score well. 4.0/4.0. Although I did not get AD for every module, I'm way satisfied with what I received.

Yeap. Could ask for nothing more. And it is true that for every AD I acquire Ngee Ann will reward me with 50SGD. So now I'm more or less RM500 richer. True motivation for all to study hard and score. Hee.

Better keep this up for this will determine my chances of getting scholarships next year. Look forward to next semester's modules, circuit analysis, strength of materials, object-oriented programming and all that.

And still, u nuaa tiy ai.

The tea not the fish

DA XI GUA!

So so so. NRA Freshie Camp was mad dope! Big ups to all GL's and the call-me-tea. You guys did an excellent job in making this camp a huge success.

We bonded. We played. We suffered. We learnt. We had fun.

Day 1.

Was feeling kinda unsure of how the day would go. Mainly cause I don't know many people there and kinda worried that I'll not be able to clique. You know. Still got to school early and reported on time anyway.

That's when I met KOI. Groups were named after bubble tea brands you see. Seriously I do not know that many existed. Andin KOI we have... Serene, Amirul, Daniel, Shihui, Crystalbel, Rio, Chloe and me! Of course with Wilson, Fifi, Qiao Ling and Daryl as our group leaders. Awesome dancers, awesome people.

First, we broke the ice. Blow wind blow, Splat, The food-hand-sign game which I sucked at etc. Really fun. 2 hours into the camp and our shirts' were all dripping with sweat.

Blow wind blowwwwwwwwwww

Then hmm we had our make up session! WOOTS. For the girls that is. I would say I learnt a lot but the biggest challenge is to stay conscious throughout. I'm not sure if it's Venus but sometimes I do think that girls are from a different planet. Guys are from Earth no questions asked.

CleansethenTonethenMoisturizethenBBCream thenConcealerthenBasethenThatOtherThing

Then we got to learn part of our choreo. Song was Poppin' by Rico Love. Learnt the first eight choreographed by Daryl. Loved it. Theme was cool, chill and SWAG. Apparently Rio's our swaggaboy! At night we did amazing race. Terribly tiring. Especially that inner thigh muscle training. I could literally count the drops of sweat as they drip onto the floor tiles.

Good night at 2am.

Day 2.

PHYSICAL TRAINING. Straight up we all woke up at 5am. Prepped ourselves and gathered at the running track. Full on 2 hours plus of pure torture. We had to run more than 3km, pushed every muscle and every single nerve to push every muscle. All the way PUSH PUSH PUSH.

Then finally we had breakfast. Hot milo and bread never tasted better. We even had a choice of Nutella, peanut butter or jam. Not bad eh. Though three days of the same thing for breakfast and supper. Not such a fresh idea. Haha still loved it though.

Um I think we then continued choreography. This time by Wilson and Fifi. Swag, more swag. We then worked on formations. Things are looking pretty good. Then we had a three session class by Ore, Sophan and Ben. MY FAVOURITE TIME OF THE CAMP.

Satisfaction

Ore teaching us isolations and basic animating. Really, really dope. Jaws dropped when he did ticking. My first time seeing it live.

Play that funky music

Sophan teaching us locking! Funk and rhythm for life. Uncle sam point, roach, air guitar. Just so I don't forget. Locking's so much more fun that I thought.

Hip hop is dead

Ben going over basic toprock and six steps. Had loads of fun. Funny instructor. Enjoyed his class a lot.

Chloe had major headache and Crystalbel injury relapsed so they had to book out from the camp. We will miss you. And then and then. We played more bonding games. Two groups are paired together to compete against each other. But of course, we collab cause we're smart people. Kinda felt bad for the game leaders though for having such an anti-competitive pair. Drawing every game is no easy task.

Koitease

Then in the evening it's ICE BLENDED NIGHT. Space jump, parody dance battle with chase-around-the-tree tamil battle music, and all the September babies' were called out. Had we even a cake. Shweet.

Virgo and Libra

We then practised our choreo and new formation till about 1.15am. All the other groups were still practising then. We were the first to go to bed. All the others only started sleeping at around 2.30am I think. Some even later.

DAY 3. FINALE.

We woke up at 5 as usual. All the other groups were still sleeping. Haha. We quickly washed up and continued mugging choreo. I didn't had the chance to shower. Don't care.

Quick breakfast. More choreo. Running. Out. Of. Time.

Finally it's time for showcase. Did make up and it's show time. We were the 6th group to perform. We all got to the front and started poppin', chillin', swaggin'. We all tried to keep it clean and together. All nervous and stuff but we got through it. =)

Then the judges had their showcase. Dope dope and more dope. Then even a popping battle between Sophan and Timothy. Also my first live one. Ochado won the best performance. We got the earliest group award. Haha. Well there were most horny and hungry groups as well. We were alright.

KOI =)

Break camp!

Bubble tea never tasted sweeter

Really wish to have more fun in future dance classes and meet more awesome people.

A1 + A2 + A3 + A4 = NRA

Ten carefully thought of ways to define my blog's current state. I am in no way a lazy blogger.

*Irony comeback!*

Blah. Hi people. If you're still there that is.

Dancesport module finally ended. We had a fun time. I think I'll miss it. We took a photo. That's me. And my partner. The female closest to me. And that's Ben by the way, the male closest to her that is not me. I don't know where was his partner.

It ended with a sorta-kinda-something-like-a dance grading. Chacha Jive Waltz Salsa. Sounds fancy right. I don't really fancy the word fancy. Too fancy for me. Anyway I think my partner and I did well. With luck we could pass with merit. Keep in touch we must.

And. My exam's over too. 5 modules all tested. Not too bad for all of them. Made another mistake in my mechanics paper though. It's like curse. The blind spot will always be there somehow. Nevermind. Hope to score a 4.0 GPA. All fingers crossed.

Now I'm having my 7 week vacation. At least that's what they call it. Vacation. Though I do have CCA going on, camps and stuff. In fact I'm going for the NRA's freshie's camp coming Friday. Hope to know more people cause seriously I totally have no connection to anyone there at all other than a few of my friends.

In other news, I've been watching The Big Bang Theory. It's a sitcom starring a theoretical physicist, an experimental physicist, an astrophysicist, an engineering and a blonde. Yay show for nerds. Who doesn't love a heavy dope of unnecessary elaboration on Star Trek and science related topics?

Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon won the Emmy Awards two years in a row, owning Steve Carrell and Alec Baldwin. Like anyone care but me. I'm completing all episodes up till season 4. Season 5 is out September. Can't wait!

Live long and prosper.
