Really into movies nowadays. English movies to be specific. I search for movies to watch via the names of my favourite actors. Not all of them are A-list actors like Tom Cruise, Natalie Portman, or Johnny Depp. Still I love their acting and how natural they can be. Right now, I would say my top ten favourite actors are:
Seth Rogen
Michael Cera
Jim Carey
Jennifer Aniston
Nicolas Cage
Will Ferrell
Zooey Deschanel
Jonah Hill
Steve Carrell
Adam Sandler
I'm guessing that you only recognize Nicolas Cage, Adam Sandler, Jim Carey. If you're into chinese movies, you probably know none of them at all. You're missing out.
And as you may already realise, most of the actors and actresses above mostly starred in comedy films and romantic Comedy fillms. Which is exactly what I'm addicted to nowdays.
ROM COM.
A few years back. I didn't like romantic comedy. I do love comedy all along, but the romantic part turns me off. Only since last year I really got into in. And it was JUNO, that got me adoring romcoms. So far I probably watched about 20 to 30 romcoms. Not a lot. And I don't plan to watch those that go way back to the 90s'. Okay let me try to list the ones that I have watched.
Juno
500 Days of Summer
The Switch
My Best Friend's Girl
50 First Dates
Wedding Crashers
Knocked Up
She's The Man
The Ugly Truth
The Proposal
Good Luck Chuck
Valentine's Day
I Love You Man
I Love You Phillip Morris
Cyrus
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Nick And Norah's Infinite Playlist
The 40 Year Old Virgin
27 Dresses
Legally Blonde
He's Just Not That Into You
Paper Heart
You, Me And Dupree
The House Bunny
Easy A
...and probably a few more.
Yup. And of all the ones I've seen, my favourites has to be Knocked Up, Wedding Crashers, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and of course, Juno. They're so light hearted, relaxing, hillarious, and touching to watch. Of course there were lots of those 'aww...' moments. Though I didn't really teared in anyone of them.
I know I know. Like aren't guy suppose to like movies like Transformers, Terminator and others that are full of action? Don't get me wrong I do like Transfomers, quite a bit. Actually second the romcom is comedy, and after that is horror films. Action isn't really my thing.
Umm well they are like Pringles, nice to eat, very popular, and most people love them. But after watching it you forget all about it. Romcom is more like... cheesecake. Hmm. Mad awesome, delightful, melts in your mouth and the taste stays there for a while. It gets you into deep thoughts, often led to daydreams. And they are often incorporated with sarcasm, irony, dirty jokes. May sound weird but I sometimes find dirty jokes incredibly funny.
Great thing is, I think about how terrible it is to get into those sticky relationship situations like those in the movies. Like you like a girl, then she's your best friend's fiancee, then you have already a girlfriend, then you found she's your sister, and someone dies, and everything gets screwed up. And I look at myself and go 'Thank God I'm free from all those troubles.' Cause more often than not, real life relationship problems are much worse, and doesn't not have a happy ending.
Anyways, that's what I have been up to lately. Watching girly movies alone. This is not my other side, it's pretty much my only side. Then again, I do card magic, likes to bake cakes, does not play dota. So clearly this can't be too much of a surprise right. Oh I painted my kitchen the other day. Sexy red. Has nothing to do with Chinese New Year.
Hm, so what should I watch tonight?
*I want to bake cookies.*
