Bunnies are rabbits right

Hey guys.

I'm back from KL. Chinese New Year celebration was off the hook. It's the year of the Rabbit! Honestly I am not exactly sure what it means for all of us but people come up with all sorts of corny stuff to make this year sound like the best one ever. Prosperity, fortune, good health, great love life, it just never gets old.

This year I did not went back to my father's hometown which is all the way up in Kelantan. Not sure why but it's not my decision anyway. I did visit quite a few relatives and friends. Tons of food, not so many red packets. Overall a pretty good time.

Chu Xi - Eve

My grandma flaunted her culinary skills. There were more or less ten dishes altogether. Hainanese chicken, albalone, prawns, 五香肉, 鱼漂 and a few others. Quite the spread. My uncle, his wife and his two children came over of course. My dad invited his UTM friend, Mahmood, a PhD student from Bangladesh. Speaks good english, very nice guy. It was a fabulous dinner.

Chu Yi - Day one

Visited my grandparents' place. Got together with my mum's siblings' families and lau yu sheng. Um it's basically chinese rojak. The yu sheng and the keropok were the best. Everyone was happy. Then some friends visited my house. Ah I missed Jwenda and Alvin. Had fun chats with them and showed them card magic. Of course I taught her some as well to blow her friends away which by now she probably already did. For dinner, we had steamboat at home.

Chu Er - Day two

Singapore! Went over the Uncle Keat's house. His three daughters are fun, but very noisy. Like hellish noisy. Had lunch there then moved on to Uncle Tai Heng's. HDB flat. 28th floor. Khai Dean and Khai Dan were looking great. Talked about Dan's life in poly and how things are over there. We talked and watched Alice In the Wonderland, a movie I hadn't watch before this because I thought it would creep me out like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory did. Seriously that movie was freakish as hell. Johnny Depp please stop playing roles like these. At night went to Vanessa's place! Hung out till about 1 am.

Chu San - Day Three

Up up up to KL. Oh I bumped into Yumin during lunch. What are the odds? Reached there only at about 3pm. Visited my grandma's late sister's husband's place. Everyone was looking pretty good. Had dinner together. Then went to my grandma's brother's place. Granduncle Robert. In Damansara if not mistaken. This guy was the architect who singlehandly drew Tian Hou Gong. No joke. And yes he's wealthy. Right outside his house I can see a Peugeot SUV. Then there's a Subaru Forester. Inside there's a Mercedes-Benz. And I forgot what the other one was. Met with his son, Simon's family. Had chats about my future. And again I performed card magic for Simon and his wife. Apparently uncle Simon himself was pretty intrigued and fascinated by magic. And his wife was interested in magic when she was my age. Like they totally get it. They get me. Honeslty I felt touched more than anything else.

Chu Si - Day four

Drove all day visiting friend's of my grandma's. I seriously have not seen them before. I don't really know them at all. So the only thing that kept me awake was my baby cousins, food, and feeding my baby cousins food. Anyway it was rather tiring. Our visits ended in the evening and we called it a day. Had dinner at Asia Cafe. I had a pizza all to myself. The Quattro. Which is Mozarella, Parmesan, Blue Cheese and Cheddar. And I downed half of my sister's spaghetti carbonara. Cheeeeeeeesed to the max. Very satisfying.

Chu Wu - Day five

Did nothing. Dad went to meet up with his client so we just waited. Played a few rounds of cards and that was it. Then we went back. I burnt a cd for my dad with about 30 contemporary songs that are of my taste. My attempt to expose him to 2011 music and the prove that music is not dead after The Beatles or MJ. Uhh. I played it and well. Let's just say we have generation gap. Oh on my way back we stopped for a while and I saw a guy with a rifle. Freaking cool. Uhh traffic was smooth. And we all reached home safely.

So that was my Chinese New Year celebration with my family. Just today I met up with a few of my friends. We had lunch at Jusco. Actually just Weiqing and I. The others watched us eat. Then I went to Woonann's place. We uhh.. encouraged cash flow. I ended up making about RM10 I think. Haha to think that I sat at the table for more than an hour just to make that 10 bucks. Ah well, it's not about the money. It's about winning. Haha nah it's about the fun. But seriously losing money sucks.

Um I think I'll meet more friends before the 15 days of Chinese New Year ends. Right. Happy Chinese New Year to all. Have fun, stay safe. =)
