I have great taste in movies so what I say is highly believable. Not.
*Heeee my first 'not' joke.*

2011 Action Comedy starring Seth Rogen and Jay Chou. Seth Rogen like I mentioned in one of the posts before is one of my favourite actors. That's why I've been very excited about this one. In a way I was also quite eager to see how Jay Chou would fair in a hollywood film.
This movie is a hero sidekick movie with a twist. The Green Hornet (Seth) was supposed to be the hero but he didn't really do anything useful while he's sidekick Kato (Jay) did most of the fighting and stuff. But of course it was the Green Hornet who essentially saves the day. Duh he was covered by Kato.
Okay first, Seth Rogen. I think he did great in this movie. I pretty much loved all of his movies. Knocked up, Superbad, Funny People etc. Extremely hillarious. His uh-huh-uh-huh laugh was epic. Props to him.
Now, Jay Chou. He had big shoes to fill since Kato was last played by legendary Bruce Lee in 1960's or 70's. And sorry to say, he didn't do that well. English was the first problem. Kato was from Shanghai, so it's perfectly natural that he doesn't speak good english. But instead of speaking mediocre english like Kato should, Jay tried to speak like a caucasian. The slang, accent, everything. He did not pull it off. At sometimes he spoke good, and most of the time he sounded stupid. It sounded pretentious.
Though the role suited him well. Kato's a cool asian guy. And Jay has the full package. Black hair, small eyes. His acting was just okay. Not really to my liking. When I see his no-look face in the movie I really think that he's just worrying about the script. It really was his honour to work with such talented actors. Oh Cameron Diaz was in it too. Hm she looked old, she is. She was a minor role and she was okay.
Overall very funny and enjoyable. and I'm pretty sure this won't win any awards at all. Good try though.
7/10.
Black Swan
Holly (Kat) and Messer (Josh) were to raise Sophie (a baby) cause her parents, their friends died in a car accident. The two didn't get along at all. The baby was chaotic. And soon they started to get the hang of it. Fell in love. Some stuff happened. Split apart. Some other stuff happened. Got together finally. Happily ever after.
I'm a sucker for romcoms yes, but I wasn't really feeling this one. It's nice. But nothing too special. Funny yes, sweet yes, other than that I think it's just okay. Though I literally went Awww!! at one point. More like Ahhh!!! + Aww!!!. Anyway it's a light hearted movie and I'm not asking for anything more than that.
I liked it overall. Probably will not rewatch it. Katherine Heigl doesn't look old. Both of their acting were good. Very true and real life like. An honest movie.

I watched thiafter midnight on the first day of Chinese New Year. A psychological horror film starring Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis. I haven't really seen any Natalie movies but I remember Mila from Forgetting Sarah Marshall. She also played the voice of Meg in Family Guy.
So this one is about a ballerina who struggles to play her roles in The Swan. The Swan, you know, Tchaikovsky. Uhh girl turns into white swan, must find true love to break the curse, evil black swan seduces the true love, white swan suicide, finds freedom in her death. Though in the movie it's a modern version of it where the ballerina had to play both black and white swans. Natalie Portman got the chosen among the ballerinas. Under immense pressure and paranoia, she started to hallucinate stuff. Like feathers popping out of her skin and some other psycho madness.
Mila Kunis was just there, another ballerina. Ah I had forgotten all of their names in the movie. Anyway Natalie got paranoid and worried that she wanted to take her role. Uhh and somehow they had lesbian sex. Kinda reminded me of Jennifer's Body.
This is a creepy movie no doubt. Wasn't funny nor romantic in any sense. So wasn't really my type. I only watched it cause I heard and saw reviews that it's good. Natalie's acting skills are really really amazing. And did you know she's a Harvard Degree holder?!! And did you know she made a rap music video with her cussing all the way?!!! I mean a girl who's pretty, smart, talented and can rap, that's like an 11!!!
So it was a great movie, acting and plot wise, but I didn't really enjoy it. A bit too slow for me.

Ah romantic comedy. Starring Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel. I didn't know Katherine Heigl until I realise that she kinda stars in many romantic comedies. 27 dresses, Knocked Up, The Ugly Truth etc. And Josh Duhamel, other than being Fergie's husband, I know nothing about him. Are they still together? Am I the only one who thinks that famous people are bound to get divorced and remarried and divorced and remarried and divorced again?
