Pleased to please ya

OHHH MYYYY GODDD!!!!!!

The music video for THE BALLAD OF MONA LISA is finally released!!!!

I just saw the music video today. Actually I went to the MTV website yesterday when it was already up. Though the clip wasn't available in my country. Crap. So I had to wait for it to go up on youtube to watch it.

Here it is. The wait is no more.

I thought the music video was really amazing. A story was told, what I'm really not sure of. Hm I'd say there's been a murder. And Brendon, playing the ghost perhaps, tries to reveal the murderer's identity. Like clues left behind in the Mona Lisa drawing as in the Da Vinci Code. Though I can't really understand the what do the 'rules' mean. And also I don't know why is Brendon dressed like Count Dracula.

I really like the steampunk theme, the costumes, the set and the visual effects. Though the part with the net gun thingy made me laugh a bit. And to me the song definitey does not sound like the video. That surprised me a little. Which is always good. I think they stand a good chance in winning some awards with this piece. Still, I like I Write Sins' music video better. I think it blends in better with the song.

Apparently I heard it was shot at the same exact set as I Write Sins Not Tragedies. And by the same director as well. Definitely you can see the shadows of I Write Sins in Mona Lisa. The top hats, the wooden house, the crowd, the strange make up and outfits.

So Panic seems to have gone back to their alternative punk rock style like in Fever. Hm I definitely will miss their country alternative rock music in Pretty. Odd. That was my favourite album or theirs. Anyway, I'm looking forward to their new album Vices and Virtues!
